A Chimney Without a Cap is a Roof With a Hole in it
Without a cap, the interior of your chimney is subject to deterioration from rain, snow, and other elements. Water running down the inside of an uncovered flue will damage the walls of the flue, other areas of your chimney, and potentially the ceiling and walls of your home. Additionally, when water penetrates even the smallest cracks and mortar joints, with a change in temperature it freezes and expands, increasing the cracks. In addition to helping prevent weather damage, a chimney cap also prevents birds, rodents, and other wildlife from entering your chimney.
The Process
Our technician can properly install or replace a standard metal chimney cap or standard furnace flue cap for you.
Service is applicable for small to standard size homes with rooftops that can be accessed easily. Service not available homes 3-story homes, homes with steep/dangerous pitches, or rooftops that require commercial ladders, scaffolding, or 2-man crews. Service not available in the winter time.
